Act now to save America, lets get started before it's too late.

I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God indivisible for liberty and justice for all... I remember reciting these words every day at school. My grand parents on both sides came from Europe. They entered this country legally, studied English, took the pledge and became citizens of the United States. Things have changed over the years, illegal entry into this country is at record highs. What are they wanting that drives so many to our borders? It can't be the jobs that brings them here, we've shifted most of them to China. Maybe it's the government freebie's that they seek. Let me hear from you. What do you think?

How do you feel about people born to illegal immigrants, raised in the United States, only having learned English, and now being deported to their parents' native country?

My initial response would be to send them all back to where they came from. I know this angers many of you. However, I do feel compassion for some of these people. The people, who are willing to pledge their allegiance and gain citizenship to this country, must abide by the laws of the land. Therefore, they must learn English pay taxes and be productive, then and only then should be grant that opportunity.

Why do people immigrate to America? still? for the freedom to speak their mind, to pick their own religion, and to own property, for the great American dream that they hear about back in their homelands.
America started out as a melting pot, and it was still called "the Melting Pot" in my school books. Now the message is, we're full - go home. We are no longer accepting/ looking for new citizens, go home.

What gets me is those starving Ethopians that have been living there and starving for decades. Every year I have to see the same people on tv begging for money to send to the starving Ethopians. "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day; teach a man to fish, he'll eat for the rest of his life". In this case I guess they just throw fish at them and spend millions of dollars making commercials to let you know how hungry they are. Um, these are people that should either learn irrigation or MOVE.

I could go on about this subject, but I won't.

Michelle, I understand your concern, my grandparents came to this country from Europe. They entered the U.S. at Ellis Island. They learned English and worked hard to gain citizenship. They were productive and paid their taxes. I have no problem with legal immigration. Our Country will open its doors to everyone that abides by our laws and contributes to the common good.
During the Carter administration, our President opened up the gates of our country and Fidel Castro emptied his prisons of the bad people and started drug wars in Miami. The killings lasted years. Now we have illegal's swarming through our borders at an alarming rate. You do not want this to continue do you? It is draining our system and your tax dollars for all the freebies they are given. You do not get free health care do you?
I agree with your assessment of
The starving Ethiopians. Very little aid is given from your donation dollars to help these people. Most of the money goes to the greedy administrators; they line their pockets with your money. Do not give unless you know where each dollar goes. Look at the situation this way; you cannot plant in unfertile sand with lack of water. The Ethiopians are gaining knowledge and aid through Christian Ministries, but their government is corrupt and and tring to wipe them off the face of the earth. I commend your compassion for people, so get involved and make a difference.
